Black and White Wednesday - "Living In The Moment"

April 14, 2010

Angel Eyes wm

One of the most tragic things I know about human nature is that all of us tend to put off living. We are all dreaming of some magical rose garden over the horizon - instead of enjoying the roses that are blooming outside our windows today.
~Dale Carnegie~

Angel Eyes BW2 WM

Lately, I have been trying very hard to keep this quote in mind. I am making a conscious effort to focus on what is in front of me presently and not what the future holds.

It is difficult at times to live in the moment and not look too far ahead, but I think it is important. Life is too short and time can pass by so quickly. I stare at both of my children on a daily basis with wonder and amazement........ They are growing up so quickly and things can change in an instant. I don't want to miss out....I want to enjoy and cherish each and every moment!!

Since my work schedule has been rather hectic and it does not look as though it is going to get any lighter.....add to that my online photography classes and client sessions booked on weekends....it doesn't leave me much spare time. Superwoman I am not, so for the next couple of weeks, I am going to continue to be somewhat absent around here in order to have extra family time.

At the very least, I will continue to post on Wednesdays so that eveyone can link. I promised I would make it around last week to see all the black and whites.......it took me until Sunday night to get there, but I did it:) I will make my way around this week too.......it just might take me a few days to make my way through the list.

Sooner or later, I will get back into the bloggy groove.......

~Have a wonderful week~

Family comes first. Friends will wait. :)

This might be an all-time fav pic of Sarah. She has the cutest little pout. I love the softness of the color version. Such gorgeous, creamy skin tones, not to mention a beautiful little girl!

Another beautiful picture of your Sarah. Can't choose between the 2 versions - they're both lovely.

I love your quote Lisa - I must print that off and put it up somewhere to read often.

Be good to yourself my friend.
Hugs,

The bloggy world can wait. Your beautiful roses are where your attention should be. I know you're busy because I've taken up a fair sized chunk of your time this week!

You say you're not superwoman but I suspect otherwise!

Beautiful pictures. I actually made a barrette very similar for Alyssa tonight and thought you might like it. we have great taste don't we?

Enjoy your family time. I am glad to hear the classes are going well.

Beautiful pictures and a beautiful post. Enjoy all the moments you have right now and make the most of them all! Hugs to you!!

My post is so very similar to your in feeling a bit overwhelmed with work and needing more family time. So take all the time you need...blogging can wait! My blog has been suffering too, but the kiddos and hubby are much, much more important. If we don't live our lives, what's there to blog about, right?!? And I completely know what you mean about savoring every moment. Every day I ask the Lord to give me the perspective to live in today and not wish for tomorrow! I hear ya girl!

Beautiful photo of your beautiful daughter!!! :)

Lisa, your work is always so stunning. I have learned a lot from seeing what you do and of course following links that have led me to PW and I{heart}faces.

Enjoy the family.

Beautiful, beautiful.

Oh, wow, Lisa....I just LOVE Little Miss Pouty...what a face. Clearly you are powerless under THAT gaze! Sarah is more beautiful every day, those EYES!

Gorgeous conversion, as always but, I must say, the Color Image has me mesmerized!

Take your time...I'm in the same boat...missing BloggyLand and all my buddies but focusing on work and family right now because time is so limited.

(Beautiful quote by the way...I will think of this throughout the week)

Ditto the previous comments, Lisa. Your family is your strength and they need you as much as you them. The blog world can wait for your return with fabulous tales of work, life, and love. Blessings.

That quote is OH SO TRUE...
I often wondered what I was doing wrong...as far as having TIME to do it all..now I see it is a common problem. So many times I have thought about giving up blogging...but, yet I LOVE IT...
The problem is I love to READ SO MANY blogs and follow their journeys as well..which ALL takes time..and makes me fall behind here..It is a slippery slope.
I understand you needing to make more family time..ENJOY it..
Life is too, too fast and short.
btw, love your pics as usual:)

You know...I know it is a lot. But thank you for keeping up with B&W Wednesday. I find there are some weeks I only post on Wednesday now. I borrowed your quote ((and added a link)) in my post today...I hope you don't mind. Your so right...today is what is important. Tomorrow can wait.

As always.....Beautiful Picture

Take your time we will all be here when you get back.

I like both of these pictures..I can't pass on the color one as it is so dreamy but the black and white is just stunning also. Love the big flower in her hair!
And no reasoning needed as to why you are taking a break...we all deserve it once in a while. I too am starting to get a little overwhelmed with the girls' activities, my full time job and photography (having to actually turn a few away just to get a break) but you hang in there and we will take the posts we get ;) Talk to you tomorrow!

Michal said...

Amen! We could all use a slow down.
My husband and I are in the middle of a complete re-do of the main living area and I am about to loose it. Instead of painting the walls today, we are having a "down" day while he drives 2 hours away to deal with legal issues with his Mother and Sisters. I am taking the time to have some more one on one with my kiddo. So I am not complaining too much- just as long as the painting gets done before the floor guys arrive!

I too need to remind myself to stay in the moment

LOVE this pic of Sarah! She has the most beautiful eyes and adorable little pout. I am going to bring a book for her when I see you called, "The Pout Pout Fish". Don't let me forget. :)

I totally understand the need for taking a break. I am going to post one more bloggy post and then I am outta here for a while. Family is FIRST ... ALWAYS! 'Nuff said. xoxo

First off, that sweet little face even looks more adorable with those pouty lips! I love the rose in her hair. My girl has suddenly fallen in love with flower headbands. The bigger and floppier the flower, the happier she is.

I think you're doing the right thing with your life. Your priorities are in order and everything will come together in time. All that truly matters is your health and family. The bloggy world will always be here when you're ready to return.

Giant hugs to you my friend...

Beautiful. I didn't join this week but love just browsing the pictures. Please don't feel like you need to visit me!! I know exactly how it is!! Family/Life first.:) I just love your work!

Lisa,if it takes longer to get around, or you don't get around everyone, or you can't post, ALL of this is fine.
LIfe can change in a second, and stuff that we take for granted can suddenly be snatched.
So it is really important to make time for family.
Thanks for the reminder, the beautiful photos and the quote.

Lisa I so understand taking a break...family comes first and you are only one mommy...you can only spread yourself so far. I have really slacked on my blog in order to put my family and their needs first. Take your time, the blog will be here when you get back.
I watched my boys grow before my eyes. I swear they were babies just yesterday. Take it all in...I really mean that from the heart..enjoy every single minute. Before you know it they are off to college and all grown up {{{hug}}}

Awesome quote! One day soon we'll look back and our kids will be grown. Definitely best to take advantage of each and every moment we have with them when they're little, it's such a fleeting time.

Can't wait to see you next week!!!!!!!!
